Reassembly

The PC pump can now be reassembled after being rebuilt and cleaned. Start by reattaching the diaphragm assembly to the pump. To do this, thread on one diaphragm assembly to the shaft.

Next, insert the shaft through the centerblock of the pump. Note; you may need to fold the diaphragm outwards to help reattach the second assembly to the shaft.

Next, thread on the second diaphragm assembly until it is hand tight. Use two ¼” wrenches to tighten the diaphragm assembly.

Next, fold both diaphragms back so that they are flush with the air chamber groove.

Next, it is time to reattach the product chambers. Start by pressing the product chamber against the diaphragm. Ensure that the discharge check valve is facing upwards.

Next, ensure that the product chamber is level by placing a Level on discharge check valve ferrule. Note; Murzan recommends making sure the surface that the pump is being reassembled on is also level.

Next, reattach the product chamber clamp by tapping it onto the chambers using a rubber mallet. Continue to maintain pressure on the product chamber while tapping on the clamp to prevent the product chamber from moving. Re-confirm that the product chamber is level once the clamp has been attached. Repeat for both sides.

Next, insert the check balls and ball stops into the discharge check valves. Inspect all components if this has not been completed.

Next, reattach the discharge manifold to the top of the product chambers using two tri-clamps. Note; the discharge manifold can be attached facing either direction and does not need to match the direction of the suction manifold.

Next, assemble the suction manifold check valves by inserting the check balls and ball stops into the check valve housings.

Next, reattach the suction manifold to the bottom of the product chambers using two tri-clamps. Note; the suction manifold can be attached facing either direction and does not need to match the direction of the discharge manifold.

Finally, tighten all clamps and dry-run the pump before placing back into service. Dry-running the pump will ensure that there are not any leaks in the product chambers, and that the rebuild components were installed correctly.
